In any given year, 1 in 5 Canadians experiences a mental illness or addiction problem.
By age 40, about 50% of the population will have or have had a mental illness.
Two-thirds of people suffering with mental illness do not seek help, due to the fear of being stigmatized
This is an important topic happening right now all around us. Often marked as frightening or funny or disregarded completely, the topic of mental health remains an area that majority of Canadians are mystified by. This is even more so in the church. How does our faith fit with our mental health? Are we to be blamed for our own mental struggles? Does God even care? Over the course of three weeks we are going to be engaging with the topic. Talks, workshops, and panels will create the space for conversation around the topic as we learn more about it and what it means for our faith and everyday lives.
