Together, creating space for everyone to discover life in Jesus

The Goal

We believe in Langley and the Greater Vancouver Area. There is so much to celebrate, but there are also real needs throughout. It is one of the fastest growing regions in the country, yet it has the lowest percentage of individuals claiming to be Christian and fewer than ever are a part of a church community. We believe that Jesus is the hope of humanity, and we are on mission to actively and effectively share Jesus with everyone. We believe that the most effective means to do this is by starting a life-giving church. A church which is focused on partnering with local organizations to server our city, building a vibrant welcoming community and most importantly sharing the message of grace and truth found only in Jesus. Through this campaign our goal is to raise $201 000 towards the launch of City Collective in the fall of 2018.

The Opportunity

This campaign isn’t about asking people to give to City Collective, but about seeing people give through City Collective.  It’s about people investing their resources to help build and mobilize a vibrant, welcoming community that can be a part of meeting the practical, relational and spiritual needs of the city.  We would ask you to pray and consider financially partnering with City Collective Church on a monthly basis over the course of the next year or through a one time donation. Below will outline the heart of City Collective Church and how you can partner with us.

Letter from our pastor

The Greater Vancouver area may be the most incredible place on earth. A place of culture, commerce, opportunity, and life. Home to over 2.4 million people, there really is nothing like it.  The city cares about social justice, and about the environment (Vancouver aims to be the most environmentally-friendly city in the world by 2020). It’s beauty to the extreme. Sunsets on the seawall, and glorious mountain views are the norm.

Yet, amongst so much beauty and possibility there is hurt that lingers. Drug addiction and depression are on the rise. Stress and a unhappiness are the reality. 1 in 5 adults claim stress as the reason for leaving their job, and are working more than one to provide for their family. And time and time again we have seen and heard how finding real community and friends feels impossible. With all that the area has to offer, many are missing the one thing that truly makes life beautiful: a relationship with Jesus.

At the end of Acts 2 it talks about the early church and how “every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.” Luke writes of good deeds garnering good will that created space for people to receive the good news and discover life in Jesus. People don't care what we know till they know that we care. We have to ask ourselves the question: are we caring for people first? We want to be a church that responds ‘yes’. A church where all are welcome, and hope abounds.

There is something that awakens on the inside of me when I think about the opportunity in front of us. Now more than ever, I am convinced that God has brought us with a purpose to serve our city, to build a welcoming community, and to reach out with the saving love of God found in Jesus Christ. Together, creating space for everyone to discover life in Jesus. That is our mission.

We understand that the only way this becomes possible is if God is in it. We need to pray like never before and believe God to do only what He can do.  It’s about obedience, it’s about passion, it’s about coming together and seeing the vision come to life.

People are hungry for hope, and we want be a part of their story. I refuse to be complacent, or to wonder “what if” while there are new stories to be written. We won’t stop until every person knows of the truth and grace that has transformed our lives. My hope is that this package inspires you and gives you the necessary information to prayerfully consider partnering with us.

Thank you for believing in the call of the local church, for believing in His mission and for taking a risk on a group of people who believe that God is doing something in the lower mainland. The story is just beginning.

How are we doing this?

01. Serve First

This is about partnering with organizations to consistently serve our city. We want to align with organizations making a difference by providing them with people and resources to help meet need in communities both locally and globally.

02. Build Community

This is about creating space for people to truly feel apart of a family. We want our communities to be the driving force of City Collective. We will meet in homes, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks all over our city with the purpose of growing, laughing and doing life together.

03. Come Together

This is about gathering with purpose.  Weekends are our opportunity to come together as a community and to invite our friends and family to a non-cringe environment. One in which all feel welcome, inspired, encouraged and challenged through worship and engaging with the Bible. This our opportunity to be launched into the week.

Launch Budget

We want to be good stewards of the resources given towards City Collective Church.

Our desire is to be financially transparent as a Church, and welcome any questions you may have. If you have any specific questions or clarifications regarding our finances, get in touch at

This campaign isn’t about asking people to give to City Collective, but about seeing people give through City Collective.

Everybody can make a difference. We are asking for support to help us launch in September 2018. Whether you are a student, retired, or in any other season of life, we wanted to make it as simple as possible for you to be a part of what is happening here in the lower mainland. Here are different ways in which you can partner with City Collective.

We are looking for individuals, families, businesses, and churches to partner with us in raising our goal of $201 000. Each orange plus represents a partner that has committed to financially support the launch of City Collective. While each unfilled plus represents an opportunity to partner. Would you prayerfully consider committing to give monthly for the next year or a one time gift?

Advantages To Giving

Giving Costs Less than you think

Federal and provincial government tax incentives encourage individuals to support their favourite charities, but many people grossly underestimate the true value of these incentives, in part because federal and provincial tax credits are calculated separately, not as one total amount on your individual tax return.

In BC, your tax credits for charitable donations above $200 reduce the cost of your gift by almost one-half (more in other Provinces). There are many avenues to be generous while benefiting from tax deductions.
