“All life is part of a complex relationship in which each is dependent upon the others, taking from, giving to and living with all the rest. ”

-Jacques-Yves Cousteau

Actor Charlie Hunnam once said that “it’s always difficult to really sum up exactly why a relationship works.” Isn’t that true.

At our core we are relational beings. In our modern world we have tried to make this thing we crave move at the same pace as everything else - fast. Really fast. Many apps and reality shows are designed to help people skip past the hard work of investing in the kind of healthy mature relationships we all long for. Good moments happen but that isn’t what we are yearning for.

The truth is healthy relationships are a matter of life and death importance, and not just dating or marriage relationships but familial, internal and a divine one as well. Over the course of this series we are going to reflect on the different relationships in our lives and how we can discover a flourishing reality that God intends and desires for us.

This is real relationships for real people.

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 (NIV)
