What happens when our emotions get the best of us? Does the Bible speak of joy, sadness, anger, and sorrow? If so, what does that look like? These are questions that all of us ask. And thankfully, the Bible speaks to our emotions.

In our new sermon series, The Songs of Summer, we are diving right in to see what it has to say. The Bible is full of emotions. This myriad is best highlighted in the rich and artistically beautiful book of Psalms. This Summer series explores the expressions of life, emotions, hope, and struggle found in the Psalms, detailing what they mean for our relationship with God today.

“The Songs of Summer” is meant to present God’s delight in our joy, presence in our sadness, understanding in our anger, and eagerness to forgive and demonstrate unfailing love. Emotions are universal and when we are in the midst of negative emotions, we need hope. The Psalms are full of emotion-filled conversations with God and they speak to our day and time just as much as they did when they were written.
